Cailee is a long-serving advocate for children and families involved in life’s difficult phases. As such, she understands family law cases require compassion and commitment and is determined to provide solutions that work for each individual case. As such, she completed her certificate in mediation from Northwestern University to better represent clients in complex family conflicts.
As a child, Cailee witnessed first-hand the challenges children face when navigating their parent’s divorce. From that experience, she knows how important it is to keep a child’s best interests top of mind.
Education
Cailee graduated from DePaul University College of Law where she also earned a Certificate in Family Law. After completing over 200 hours of volunteer work while attending law school, Cailee was awarded the Benjamin Hook Distinguished Service Award.
Cailee received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Employment
Prior to joining Kogut & Wilson, Cailee worked as a senior associate at a Chicago-based family law boutique concentrated in family and adoption services.
While pursuing her J.D., Cailee gained valuable experience interning with at the Department of Children and Family Services, the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic, the Chicago Legal Clinic and private attorneys in the areas of adoption and guardianship wherein she provided guidance and advocacy for families.
Awards
Cailee has been selected to Illinois Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers since 2021. This distinction is awarded to just 2.5% of attorneys under 40 years of age in Illinois. She has been named to the Best Lawyers list since 2025 for Family Law: Arbitration and Mediation and was named to Chicago Daily Law Bulletin’s 2024 Top Women in Law list.
Professional Associations
Cailee was selected for professional membership in the Exclusive Professional Women’s Networking Group’s Chicago chapter.
Since 2021, she has been appointed Guardian ad Litem for Chicago adoption cases by the County Division Administrative Order of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Previously, she served as the Chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Adoption Law Committee from 2018-2019. Prior to this position, she served as Vice-Chair in the committee from 2017-2018.
Publications & Presentations
Cailee authored a chapter for the 2020 and 2024 editions of the adoption law handbook published by the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE). In addition, she has been both a host and speaker for the Chicago Bar Association (CBA) Adoption Law Seminar.
